The scan
An intraoral scanner, not a tray of impression material.
Yaletown Dentistry / Services / Invisalign
Clear aligners, planned from a scan. You see a simulation of the proposed tooth movements before you decide to start.
Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear removable trays instead of fixed braces. You change them on a schedule and wear them most of the day, including overnight.
It is not right for every case. Some bites genuinely need fixed braces or an orthodontist, and we will say so.
An intraoral scanner, not a tray of impression material.
You see a simulation of proposed movements. It is a planning aid, not a prediction of your result.
Around 20 to 22 hours a day. Out for meals and brushing.
Short check-ins every few weeks rather than monthly tightening.
Needed afterwards, permanently. Teeth drift back otherwise, and we will be straight with you about that.
Bite assessment in the same appointment, at no extra charge.
You get an itemised written estimate before anything starts. We bill your insurance directly, so you usually pay only your own portion on the day, and the Canadian Dental Care Plan is accepted. In-house financing is available through PaySpyre, so treatment can be paid for over time.
It depends on how much movement is needed and how many aligners that takes. You get an itemised estimate before starting.
Simple cases can be a few months; complex ones over a year. The scan-based plan gives you a realistic number before you commit.
Each new aligner feels tight for a day or so. Most people describe pressure rather than pain.
They are clear and most people do not. They are not completely invisible.
