Dental
exams.

An hour, once or twice a year, that catches the expensive problems while they are still cheap ones.

In one paragraph

What it is.

An exam is not a glance in your mouth. We check every tooth and existing filling, measure the gums, look at how your bite meets, feel the jaw joints, and screen the soft tissues for anything that should not be there.

You leave with a written summary: what is fine, what is worth watching, what needs doing, and what it costs.

Detail

The specifics.

What we check

Teeth, existing work, gum pockets, bite, jaw joints and soft tissues.

X-rays

Digital, and only the ones your situation calls for.

Oral cancer screening

Part of every exam here, not an add-on.

How often

Most people every six to twelve months. We will tell you which applies to you.

Written plan

Priorities and prices, on paper, before you leave.

New patients

Welcome, no referral needed.

Money

What it costs.

You get an itemised written estimate before anything starts. We bill your insurance directly, so you usually pay only your own portion on the day, and the Canadian Dental Care Plan is accepted. In-house financing is available through PaySpyre, so treatment can be paid for over time.

Questions.

How often should I have a dental exam?

Most adults benefit from an exam every six to twelve months. If your gums are healthy and your risk is low we will say so rather than book you in unnecessarily.

Does an exam include a cleaning?

Where time and gum health allow, the hygiene appointment happens on the same visit. Sometimes deeper cleaning needs its own longer appointment.

Do I need X-rays every time?

No. Digital X-rays are taken when what we can see raises a question, or on a spacing appropriate to your risk.
