Inlay vs. Onlay

An inlay fills the space within the cusps of a tooth. An onlay extends over one or more cusps to cover a larger area. Both are fabricated in a lab for an exact fit, making them stronger and more durable than a standard filling for moderate to large restorations.

The Process

We prepare the tooth, take a digital impression, and place a temporary restoration while the lab crafts your custom inlay or onlay. At your second visit, we bond it into place and check the fit. Two visits, long lasting results, and your tooth stays as intact as possible.
